3. After you’ve finished your creation, insert your custom makeup style into our special “Before & After” YouCam Makeup Eurovision frame by clicking the heart+ in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Or click the “Save” icon in the top left hand corner of your screen and select “YouCam Perfect Collage” from the save screen.

This will launch YouCam Perfect and direct you to our collection of collages. To find the Eurovision collages, click the + sign and download them.

How to "Circle It" for iOS Devices

Then, select the image you'd like to show, and "Pick a Circle" to select the category for your post to be sure that the Beauty Circle community most interested in your topic can see it. Vintage 1940's Inspired Look Tutorial with Real Makeup

Elegance. Romance. Beauty. Vintage looks are classic styles that you can look to as inspiration for your next evening outing, party, or formal event. This 1940's look is ideally beautiful, soft, and feminine. We used YouCam Makeup to create this look that you can recreate with a few real makeup products probably in your makeup bag right now. Take a look at the step-by-step guide to creating a 1940's makeup look, using YouCam Makeup as a guide.

Vintage 1940's Makeup Style

Time travel back to the glamorous era of the 40's, when makeup was ultra feminine and supremely classy. Well known Hollywood stars of the time inspired many women, especially when it came to their makeup styles. The main focus for the trendy look of times was full red lips and long lashes. Brows were kept natural or slightly arched. For the eyes, we see mainly brown or grey eye shadows and simple liner. Cheeks were always naturally flush with a light pink blush for a healthy glow.

Step 1: Use the Preset 40s Look

To achieve the 1940's inspired look, I selected on of the preset looks called "40s" that give me the bright red lips, rosy cheeks, and smoky eyes. If you need to adjust the placement of any of the makeup, you can do so at this time. If you are happy with the look, touch the check in the top right corner. Or, for more customization, you can adjust any of the colors or styles by selecting specific areas such as Mouth or Eye to make changes.

To see all the products and application techniques used in the virtual makeup look, click on the heart-plus icon as shown in the image below.

Step 2: Review Your Look

After clicking the heart-plus icon, you'll see the products and colors were used to create your look. This "Save My Look" list is the blueprint you can use to apply the makeup look to yourself using real makeup. Scroll down to view the full list of the products. You can use preset Looks as I did here with the 1940's style or create one of your own. If you choose "Save" at the bottom, you can name your custom look and use it again in the future. If you'd like to see a before and after image, choose "Compare" in the bottom right.

 

Step 3: Gather Makeup to Begin the Look

You've probably got the items you will need for this look in your makeup bag. The 1940's style is all about bright red lipstick, pink blush, grey/silver eye shadow, and black eye liner. If you don't have these items, you can run over to the drugstore to buy these basics that you can use again and again to create many of the traditional makeup looks in YouCam Makeup. Here are the products I used pictured below:

Step 4: Use "Save My Look" Blueprint to Apply

Now you can begin to play with real makeup as you start following the makeup blueprint in YouCam Makeup to create your real makeup look. I started with eyeliner first, using a standard liquid liner to give a think line that is more dramatic. But you could also use a kohl pencil if you have that on hand. Start with the inner corner of the eye and work your way to the outer corner dragging it off the edge to create the slightly upward tail. As I have mentioned before, you can also go back and use a think liner brush and eye shadow in the color of the liner you used to fill in the area closest to your lashes.

Eye shadow is not as hard as it looks, and YouCam Makeup makes it easier for you by providing a color map to help you place each color exactly on your eyelid according to the number indicated. For this look, I took the darkest color first, black #3 and placed it in the outer corner of my lid. Then, I took the dark slate grey color #2 to cover the middle half of my eyelid. Finally I finished the shadow by applying the lightest color in the inner portion of my lids at #1. The percentage of each color shows you how much product to apply.

Then, I applied two coats of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Clean up any mess or stray lines with a cotton swab and a little water/makeup remover.

Finally, I pink blush to the apples of my cheeks, brushing in an upward motion.

 

After Applying Lipstick

I found the brightest red lipstick that was most similar to the color in YouCam Makeup. One trick you can use to get the red color lipstick you want is to use a darker shade then blot off the excess color to reveal a lighter lip color.

The Final 1904's Look

After applying the whole look according to the YouCam Makeup blueprint, I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out. and can't wait to create my next decade look. Maybe I'll try the 1970's next, who knows?
